You have found The Wild Writers Society for Young People. There's much to explore about this place. Take your time. Look through as many pages on this website as you can.

We offer a new approach to writing aligned with young people's creative growth.

First, you must...

SEEKERS

discover the world

AGES 4-8

You are not a student.

You are a storyhunter.

You are collectors, observers, and seekers of hidden worlds.

Three journeys to guide you—Seekers, Wayfinders, and Architects—are designed around stages of creative growth rather than strict grade levels or age. The suggested age ranges are simply guides to help you find a starting point. Some young people are ready for the next adventure sooner, while others benefit from spending more time where they are. Choose the path that feels the most inspiring, and remember—you can always grow into the next one when the time is right.

WAYFINDERS

navigate the world

AGES 9-12

You are not following a path.

You are making one.

You are adventurers, question-askers, risk-takers, and wayfinders through ideas.

ARCHITECTS

shape the world

AGES 13-18

You are not here to fit the world. You are here to shape it.

You are visionaries, designers, storytellers, creators, and architects of ideas that leave a mark.

I DON'T LIKE READING OR WRITING

That is common

Reading and writing require an "ecosystem" of sorts to support a healthy relationship with both journeys. First and foremost, one must absolutely enjoy what they are reading. Second, one must absolutely be inspired by what they are writing about. Without those connections, of course, you won't like reading and writing. Who would?

You need an "ecosytem"

For a young person to connect with reading, they need an environment that supports that connection. If one or both parents or adults in the household do not read books to themselves or their children, a child in the home will be less likely to gravitate toward reading.

Maybe it's time for a change?

Perhaps it is time for something new for not just the young person(s) in the home, but the adults as well. If your household doesn't emphasize reading, we will guide you through that new journey.

YOUR WORK WILL GET PUBLISHED

Your creative work will find its way to others

which will inspire others to

find their way.
