SOMETHING IS COMING

ZINES

Small but mighty.

Independently published, handmade books by our young members, if they so choose.

All zines are sold for $5.00, with approximately $2.00 covering shipment costs and $3.00 or more donated to a selected charitable organization. Quarterly donations will be announced via our email blasts. Zero dollars in profit from the sales of zines are kept by the society.

A zine (pronounced zeen, short for magazine) is a small, independently created publication made by one person or a small group of creators. Zines can include stories, comics, poems, artwork, photography, interviews, observations, maps, collections, and just about anything else someone wants to share.

Unlike traditional books or magazines, zines are made to express ideas—not to fit a formula. They are often handmade, photocopied, stapled together, folded from a single sheet of paper, or digitally designed and self-published.

At the Wild Writers Society for Young People, zines give young people the freedom to experiment, publish their own work, and share their unique voice with each other and the world.

Every zine is a reminder that you don't have to wait for permission to become a creator.
