Maybe it was an online ad. Maybe another parent recommended us. Maybe Google, or perhaps AI, decided this little corner of the internet was worth showing you. However you arrived, we're glad you're here. We have created an abundant resource page for parents where you will find an informational podcast, recommended books for young people, reviewed creative and technology supplies, and much more. Before you decide whether the society is right for your family, we'd like to be clear about who we are.
Safety
The society is intentionally designed to be a safe, focused space with creative writing at its core. We do not include peer-to-peer messaging, online chats, discussion forums, or public commenting as part of the society. Instead, young people share their creativity through the work they choose to publish. Their handmade zines, stories, artwork, and other projects can be featured through our website (if they so choose), giving them an authentic audience without exposing them to the risks that often come with social media or online communities. Our motto is "kids feel seen, parents feel safe."
Technology
The society teaches young people how to collaborate with technology without becoming dependent on it. We embrace AI as a creative tool (beginning at our "Wayfinder" ages 9-12 stage)—with thoughtful boundaries—to enhance, never replace, human imagination. Along the way, members create across both traditional and digital mediums, from pencils, paper, paint, and handmade zines to computers, tablets, design software, and emerging technologies. Our goal is to cultivate thoughtful creators who know not only how to use powerful tools, but when to set them aside.
Support
The ideas they discover here are meant to be carried home—shared around dinner tables, during family walks, on long car rides, and in the everyday moments that shape a life.
